The Benchworks

The Benchworks is a jewellery business based in the historic town of Elgin, owned and run by goldsmith Helen Cormack. Using a combination of traditional techniques and modern technology, The Benchworks offers a design service for bespoke commissions, repairs and the re-making of vintage and antique pieces. Helen expertly re-models heirlooms that you no longer wear, might be too damaged or perhaps have been inherited but are not quite your style. She made a beautiful job of remaking my grandmothers engagement ring I had inherited, turning one ring into three pieces worn by myself and two daughters.

Alongside these commissions Helen also offers jewellery making classes in Moray, available as evening classes, or full day workshops. She teaches traditional jewellery skills from beginners to more advanced students, where you can create simple one off pieces in a single workshop, or more complex items across a series of days. Classes are relaxing, well equipped and practical and you don’t need any prior experience to take part.
